An Introduction to Active Step
Leading the way with compassion we aspire to be the most recognised clinic for the management of foot disorders and musculoskeletal injury in the UK.
Our goal is to embed a culture of continuous learning and pursuit of excellence to ensure we stay at the forefront of modern health care techniques and offer gold standard treatment to our patients beyond the conventional approaches they’ve become accustomed to.
Our Core Values
We are committed to giving patient’s choice by educating them on their treatment options with full transparency and making specialist therapies available to them that they are unable to access on the NHS. We want our name, Active Step, to be synonymous with helping people move better, so that they can feel better and live their best life.
Meet our clinical experts & operations team
Hi, I’m Emily, the Founder and Managing Director of Active Step. Active Step started out as just me and a few basic bits of equipment, working out of a rented space in Whiteley. My vision was to create a much needed centre of excellence for the lower limb, foot and ankle for our local community and I’m proud to say that with the support of my amazing team, we have done just that.
Hi, I’m Alice, the Clinical Director at Active Step. A large part of my role is providing mentorship for the team. We are a teaching clinic here and take pride in rearing some of the best podiatrists in Hampshire. My specialism is in musculoskeletal podiatry, where I enjoy piecing together the puzzle to establish an injuries cause, diagnosis and treatment. My interests include long walks with my dog, working through my list of ‘new places to visit’ and good food and wine!
Hi, my name is Sophie Cameron. I have worked for Active Step since 2017, and now lead the operations and administration functions. Alongside the clinicians, my goal is for every person who walks through the door to have a positive and welcoming experience. Outside of clinic, I enjoy the (odd!) glass of wine, walks along the beach, and days out with my two girls.
Hi I’m Jim, Senior Podiatrist at Active Step Healthcare. My interest in podiatry was sparked by my background in Athletics, specifically middle distance and endurance running, both as a competitive athlete and also now as a coach. Outside of podiatry I enjoy athletics, martial arts, long dog walks in the New Forest with my working cocker spaniel Maple and the “occasional” craft beer- it’s 5 o’clock somewhere right?!
Hi I’m Catherine, I hail from the lovely Emerald Isle and have happily settled in the UK. I attained an Honours Degree in Podiatry from the University of Brighton. My interest in feet stemmed from training as a Reflexologist, which triggered my curiosity to further explore the importance of caring for feet and the often forgotten role feet play in living life to the full. I like exploring the New Forest walking trails & surrounding areas in my spare time.
Hi my name is Louise and I’m a fully qualified Foot Health Practitioner, currently undergoing my Podiatry Apprenticeship with Plymouth University to obtain my Podiatry honours degree. I have previously worked within the NHS where after ten years I decided I wanted to change my career. Outside of work, if I don’t have my head in a book studying, I’m playing the piano, planting at my allotment, cycling, dancing, camping and hiking. I look forward to meeting you all.
Hi, My name is Beth. I am currently doing my 3 year podiatry degree apprenticeship here at Active Step. Having previously worked in a specialised running trainer shop, I have a strong interest in running trainers and biomechanics. When I am not at work you’ll probably find me training at the gym!
Hi, my name is Jenny. After 10 years of working in front of house and admin roles in the theatre, Active Step is my first foray into the world of medical care. My passion is musical theatre and when I am not working I can usually be found at the theatre in rehearsals or practising vocals and choreography in my living room. My other hobbies include knitting, cooking and taking long walks in the countryside.
Hi I’m Chloe. After 8 years working in medical sales you will now find me behind the desk here at Active Step ready to welcome you to clinic. When I’m not at work I mainly spend my time wrangling 2 small children and 2 hairy doggos. As well as enjoying crochet and all things crafty!
