Active Step podiatrists caring for patients of all ages in Whiteley, Fareham

Who We Help

From athletes to older adults, we treat all foot concerns

Who We Help

Our podiatrists work with a wide range of patients across Hampshire, including:

  1. Active older adults (golfers, tennis players, walkers, country club members)

Many of our active older patients come to us with conditions such as arthritis, big toe joint pain, plantar fasciitis, tendinopathies, and general foot or knee pain that limit mobility and activity. These issues can make it harder to stay active and enjoy sport or walking. We focus on reducing pain, improving function, and helping you keep moving with confidence.

  2. Athletes and sports people

We commonly treat sports injuries including plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinopathy, shin splints (medial tibial stress syndrome), and Morton’s neuroma. These often develop from training load, biomechanics, or footwear issues and can affect performance and consistency. Our aim is to identify the cause, support recovery, and help prevent recurrence so you can return to sport safely.

  3. Professionals and busy adults

Busy professionals often present with plantar fasciitis, foot fatigue, or forefoot pain linked to long hours on their feet or unsupportive footwear. Women in particular may also develop bunions or Morton’s neuroma due to narrow or restrictive shoes. We provide fast, effective treatment and practical advice that fits around demanding schedules.

  4. Private school-aged children and young people

Children and teenagers frequently experience growth-related conditions such as Sever’s disease, Osgood-Schlatter’s disease, and patellofemoral pain, especially if they are active in sport. These conditions are often linked to rapid growth combined with high activity levels. We focus on reducing pain, supporting healthy development, and keeping young people active.

  5. People with diabetes

Patients with diabetes may present with reduced sensation, callus build-up, skin and nail infections, dryness, or in some cases ulceration. These changes require regular monitoring and proactive foot care to prevent complications. We provide ongoing assessment, treatment, and education to support long-term foot health.

  6. People recovering from foot or ankle surgery

Post-surgical patients often experience swelling, stiffness, reduced mobility, and compensatory movement patterns in the lower limb. Recovery requires structured rehabilitation and careful progression to restore function. We support healing, rebuild strength, and help restore confident movement.

  7. People with everyday foot pain

We regularly treat common problems such as corns, calluses, ingrown toenails, verrucae, and fungal infections of the skin or nails. While often seen as minor, these issues can significantly affect comfort and quality of life. We provide effective treatment and practical advice to resolve symptoms and prevent recurrence.

Our Focus

Our Area of Specialism

Our main specialist focus is musculoskeletal foot and lower limb conditions, particularly plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinopathy, Morton’s neuroma, and big toe joint pain. These are often persistent, activity-limiting problems that require more in-depth assessment and treatment planning. We specialise in helping active patients stay mobile and pain-free through targeted treatment and long-term management strategies.
