Foot Mobilisation

Our Musculoskeletal Podiatrists are uniquely trained in using world class soft tissue and joint mobilisation techniques that will help you feel immediate relief from painful stiff joints and improvement in your overall mobility.

Foot Mobilisation

Patients who have foot mobilisation often report immediate improvement in mobility and a reduction in pain. Both of which help them in carrying out pain free activity.

Foot Mobilisation Techniques (FMT) is a manual therapy performed by our Specialist Musculoskeletal Podiatrist that is used to improve foot and ankle function by targeting stiff, misaligned or dysfunctional joints and soft tissue injury and restriction. This type of therapy involves finding and treating the cause of your pain rather than just the symptoms.

Foot mobilisation involves the gentle movement of the joints to stretch the articular surfaces and surrounding joint soft tissue in order to promote repair and improve function.

What conditions benefit from FMT?

  • Ankle sprains, instability, impingement
  • Bunions
  • Claw, mallet, retracted and hammer toes
  • Cuboid syndrome
  • Osteoarthritis
  • Morton’s neuroma
  • Plantar fasciitis/fasciopathy
  • Achilles tendonitis/tendinopathy
  • Calf pain
